If you’re new to mobile home investing, following a blueprint and taking action is only half the battle. Hitting those short-term goals is great but without the proper mindset traits you risk losing true sustainable success.
When we first started mobile home investing, we didn’t have any of the right mindset traits. It wasn’t until we actually started to develop these mindset traits that we started to gain long term success and momentum, and eventually doubled our results.
So in this blog post we want to share our five must have mindset traits with you guys so that you can implement them and learn a little faster than we did.
Mindset trait #1 Wake up refreshed and energized
When we first got started with mobile home investing we would just grind ourselves until we burned out. Like we wanted to get it all overnight. And that did not work.
We learned over time that you have to get the proper amount of sleep. You have to allow yourself to get recharged and refreshed for a new day to get the best out of it.
What we like to do in the morning is we love pouring into ourselves by first going to the gym and getting our energy, getting into our meditation, drinking a green smoothie, and then reading something positive, something that’s going to help us learn further so that we can apply it into our mobile home business and get more results.
Take care of the controllables in the morning and generate the energy you wish to have each day.
Mindset trait #2 Patience
Anything worth having takes time. Just like when you started walking you had to start by crawling first, falling on your face a few times, and then learning. Your first deals aren’t going to come overnight. You need to trust the process, have patience, and grace with yourself, and allow yourself that time it takes just to simply grow.
And remember, you’re gonna make mistakes. This is part of learning. This is how you learn the basics – by just taking those lessons from your mistakes. So be patient with yourself, it’s okay. Give yourself grace. Just know that if you’re taking a step towards your goal every single day you’ll get there.
Mindset trait #3 Determination
We all know there’s going to be obstacles along the way. You have to be able to push through those obstacles, push through the objections, and push through the pain to get to that success on the other side. So it takes grit. That’s what all successful people have. They push through when it’s hard, they push through when they don’t want to, and that’s what determination is all about.
That’s why having a big audacious goal, understanding your WHY, understanding your purpose for doing what you’re doing by is so important. While you’re building this tough skin the only thing that’s going to keep you going is that WHY. Your purpose. So trust the process that fulfils that purpose.
Again, this is going to take a lot of willpower and determination. You’re gonna have to will yourself through some of those days. But trust me, when you taste that success – the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time – you’re not going to want to quit.
Mindset trait #4 Do your best in your work and tasks
Remember guys, how you do anything is how you do everything. You want to be able to look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and say ‘I gave one hundred percent effort today. My work and my tasks. I gave it everything I have.’
The quality of your work matters. And the quality of the effort you put into your work each and every day plays a huge role in the success you’ll see in this niche. At the end of each day you want to be able to feel proud and confident that you put your best foot forward. You’re putting in the work, and you’re going to get to your to goal.
And it’s not about perfection. You don’t have to be perfect. But if you can at least look back at it and say,‘Hey, I’m proud of what I’ve been doing, and I know it’s going to get me where I want to be.’
That’s what you’re looking for.
Mindset trait #5
Do the right thing even when no one is looking
You want to do right by your clients and right by the people you work with.
I know what’s helped us a ton is how we’re always looking to create win-win solutions. You want everybody that’s involved in your transactions to win.
One of our mentors once told us to treat all our clients, treat everyone we come in contact with, like family. Or like our grandma. Treat them like someone you love and you cherish. That way you’re always doing what’s right and in their best interests.
And it’s not just about your clients. You want to be able to say,
‘Hey, I’m not cheating myself today.
I know exactly where my time is.
I’m being intentional with my time and intentional with the people around me.’
Who are those people around you? Are they adding fuel to your fire or are they taking that fuel away? You want to make sure that you have that circle of influence intact because the people around you are going to play a huge role in the direction you go and those choices you make each and every day.
